The Bluffton Street Department is responsible for the repair, cleaning and maintenance of all city streets and alleys, sign maintenance, storm water drainage as well as the collection and disposal of leaves and brush/limbs. They also handle new sidewalk inspections, mosquito spraying and snow and ice removal. This is accomplished by three equipment operators, one truck driver and two laborers.
Grass clippings, left in piles, provide harborage for mosquitoes and the decaying grass creates unpleasant odors. Therefore, the City of Bluffton does not pick up lawn grass clippings. National Serv All will accept bagged grass clipping with the regular trash collection in the 95-gallon bin.
